It’s that time of the year again. As I read my friend’s son’s year book ( ) I cast my mind back to the last days of high school (1985) and my choices for quotes.

I passed up the Springsteen classic

“For the ones who had a notion, yeah the notion deep inside, that it ain’t no sin to be glad you’re alive / I wanna find one place that ain’t lookin through me / I wanna find one place, I wanna spit in the face of these Badlands”

for the less strident Springsteen classic

“Someday we’ll look back on this and it will all seem funny.”

I keep hoping for the day when that’s true. 🙂

Today I’m into the acceptance of lives and its ups and downs, so probably something from Ecclesiastes/“Turn Turn Turn”

1. What was your yearbook quote then?

2. What quote would sum up life over the past few years?

Then:

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

Now:

Spend as much time as you can with the nice people; it barely begins to make up for the time you have to spend with the jerks.

Then: The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt.

Now: see sig.

I’m graduating on Friday.
