Another bit actor who appeared a few times worthing mentioning: Michael Barrier, also one of the better supporting actors. In one ep, he even was ‘in charge’ of the bridge, I believe, when the landing party beamed down. After a ton of bit roles in the 1960s, left the acting biz for a legal career in the Coast Guard!. ---

I’m not particularly blaming anyone. As you may have guessed from my user name, I can sling Star Trek trivia with the best of them. 🙂 But Whitney did have a life and a career apart from Star Trek, and on some level it makes me feel…let’s call it “odd”…that we can’t find much to talk about that isn’t Trek-related. I do think this is probably inevitable, given the tremendous cultural influence Star Trek exerts as compared to anything else Whitney was involved with. I’m not trying to make anyone feel bad, or to play junior mod or anything, but it is something I’ve been thinking about. RIP, Grace. ---

Are you talking about a particular fandom that routinely insults a particular performer, or are you discussing people (in general) making critical remarks about the acting ability of any and all performers?
