It depends on your state of mind, I guess. First time I came accross this link (or a simliar one, didn’t click to check) I was half-asleep having just woken up, and I was catching up on some of my susbcribed newsgroups when I came accross it. Since it was from a regular poster I clicked on it, waited a bit and was going to click on the ‘close window’ at the corner of the screen when it screamed at me. My gf had been listening to loud music on headphones and hadn’t turned the volume down before leaving for work. The shock of the picture changing combined with the very loud shrill scream and the fact that I was going to click on something made me jump and startled me so much I ended up throwing the mouse. I went rigid, then slack. My heart was pounding, and my I had lost my breath. Of course, if you’re sitting at home, reading a thread about the said page and click on it expecting to be startled, I guess it’s pretty lame. I had a good laugh after seeing it the first time, and the next times I recognized the URL so I didn’t even click on it. I did forward it to a ng where I’m a reg, and it got basically the same reaction I had to it. But that was a couple of weeks ago, by now, in internet time, the joke is very very old, I guess. Well, I guess that’s enough rambling by me on this subject… 🙂 ---

I’m with matt on this…I must be missing something. In its natural habitat of unlabeled posting, sure I can see why posting this link (or the handful of others like it) could be an offence worthy of a warning, but since, in this case, it was just posted as an explaination of what the thread was about (with, honestly, ample warning that it was supposed to be scary (albiet in the other posts of the thread)), I don’t see why qshapadooy was warned. Unless, of course, I’m misinterpreting Tuba’s post in which case I apologise. (FTR, after the 2nd or 3rd of these…they cease to be startling…Although the kitty one (no link, mostly because I’ve forgotten it) was cute.) ---
