And have you learned that vB code can screw up proper quotation format? Let’s assume (without me having any idea) that you aren’t one of those people–those _awful_people–who quote the whole damn post when all they need is one part of a sentence. For example, say I want to quote part of the following: Yadda yadda, etcetera etcetera, it is therefore evident that Evil Forest Gnomes are controlling the Bush Administration. I just want to make vicious fun of the conclusion (“What’s evident is that Evil Forest Gnomes have removed your brain.”) so I don’t need to quote the whole frigging sentence–all I need is the last part. The proper way to do that is to capitalize the first letter (the “i” in this case) and enclose it in brackets (ie. )–this means the capitalization has been added by the quoter: > [@](#): > > {I}t is therefore evident that Evil Forest Gnomes are controlling the Bush Administration. If you use the right brackets to enclose an I, you get: > [@](#): > > _t is therefore evident that Evil Forest Gnomes are controlling the Bush Administration._ The vB code reads it as a command to italicize…or bold (boldize?) with a B, or underscore with a U–and it amputates the letter from the quotation, too. In other words, you _can’t_use the proper form with those letters–you have to either resort to {} or leave them uncapitalized. This is the sort of thing that gives semi-anal legal-types such as myself heartburn, high blood pressure, and a tendency to grind our teeth, and I REALLY wish somebody would Do Something About It.
