People are fucking morons. One of my cowokers was all excited about Palin, said she really liked her. Then I pointed out that if she were raped, Palin would try to force her to carry the baby to term. She then flip flopped and now doesn’t like her. Let’s not put too much stock in what these sheep think. ---

Never underestimate the stupidity of the conservative right–they voted for Bush, twice. Most of them (the most hardcore) still do. They blame “congress” for the state of their world (and it should share some of the blame), along with some vague threat of a secular society that includes more people that don’t look like them, worship like them or talk like them. And never underestimate the ignorance of the American public, both Reps and Dems–people vote for candidates for inexplicable reasons. I have heard more than one person say that they voted for X due to ONE speech or they didn’t vote for Y because they didn’t like his tie. (that was my mother’s neighbor, btw). If McCain wins, he wins. IMO, the condition of the country is so bad that it will take more than Obama et al to set it right. What is needed is a change in mindset and return to the willingness that got the interstates built and the libraries constructed. That is sorely lacking on both side of the aisle at this point. If McCain dies in office and Palin is President, I think we will see the consequences of voting for someone who talks in snarky sound bites and does not know how to lead. I fully grant she knows how to win. Governance is not the same thing–as W found out. **Ted** –it wasn’t funny. And I find it strange how no one comments upon the fuckability of male candidates. I’m sure it’s in the Bible somewhere that it’s ok to view women this way. Why don’t you tell us all about it? Fight ignorance and all that. ---
