Try having a rational argument with Monty regarding mormonism. No matter how rational your argument, if you reach a conclusion that is in any way negative, he’ll accuse you of blind prejudice. Oh and I note his groupie, Iampunha has already chipped in. ---

The thing is that in those threads people are having a pleasant and enjoyable exchange and he just poisons the atmosphere with his bitching and stupidity so people leave in disgust. If you don’t agree with him in matters of religion you’re a bigot, if you don’t agree with him in matters of politics you’re antiAmerican and a supporter of terrorists. Then he goes around other threads where he has nothing to post but jibes directed at the people he has argued with before. Yes, I believe “asshole” is the correct term. Not that I excuse Coll’s invectives but at least his main point is explaining why he believes someone is wrong. Usually it is a _long_ post explaining things and with the ocassional jibe so, even with the bad forms there is knowledge to be gained. **Monty** OTOH does nothing of the sort. His posts are just the insult with no attempt to add anything useful. By his conspicuous absence here it doesn’t seem like he has much to say in his own defense. ---

True, Monty _is_ a “smartass” sometimes. Then again, so am I. However, I guess better a “_smart_ ass” than a “dumbass”, like sailor & blowero.:wally Of course, sailor here somehow forgets that the internees at GB are going to get everything on his “wish list for a fair trial” but #1, and anyone BUT a “dumbass” can understand why- and even sailor here agrees that sometimes there is a good reason for things to be kept secret. Like, um er- when the word gets out that some lieutenant in Al-qaeda is under trial they hijack a schoolbus and start killing the kids one by one until we let him go?:rolleyes: :dubious: Fucking “dumbasses” -we are not dealing with bad check writers & car thieves here. Some of these dudes are terrorists, and linked to the frying-in-hell asswipes who flew jets into the Twin Towers on… what was that date again? Sailor- since a poster ( I forget his name) posted a link for me that explained the link of AI to ICP, I did not think I had to. Of course, if you need to, I could go back there, quote his link, and then use small words for you… Blowero- note “…Sailor here…” Not “…Blowero here…”. There was a book written in the eighties that called amnesty international were communists. The main crux of this book was that amnesty international were lauching a “propaganda campaign” aginst the cuddly South American dictator General Pinochet. Needless to say it was a load of BS. ---

I recommend people read DrDeth’s posts because his ignorance and stupidity are right up there with Susanann’s. Both will argue with passion and occasional invective. What sets Monty apart is his humorless, arrogant and distinctly personal form of vitriol. December and Collunsbury are people IRL I would be pleased to argue with over a beer at the pub. A beer with Monty is an invitation I would turn down without hesitation, even if he was paying. ---
