I hope he sticks around. However, sooner or later, he will start thinking for himself, and in order to make any sort of informed opinions, he needs to understand that other people have different opinions, different religions (or a lack of religion), and only he can decide what is right for him. He needs to be aware of these differing “schools of thought”.
And he absolutely must know the difference between a faith and a poison. The preacher in the OP, the Fred Phelps preachers, the Jerry Falwell preachers, are poison. They wrap themselves in false holiness, they name drop God, all the while spreading hate and lining their own pockets.

Hmmm…what about all those popes (every single one of them save the current one) that ended up, um, dying? The wage of sin is death? I thought it had been squared away by now that death is natural and inevitable for everyone, regardless of sin.

I think the part I bolded is part of the reason he comes off so preachy. Learning not to be preachy is a social skill, and, like most Aspies, he may not be able to learn them by osmosis. They often say Aspies have to be taught social skills like we would have to learn to play the piano. In other words, it takes actual instruction, practice, and repetition.
I actually think he comes across as more socially adept than most 13yo Aspies. He actually doesn’t seem that different from a normal 13yo on his religious topics, at least. Heck, I know 30 year olds with similar beliefs and manners of expressing them.[/hijack]
OP: I think what makes you the most mad about this is that they’ve taken Christianity, something you believe to be a good thing, and made it something you abhor. Being a Christian is a big part of your identity, and it seems like these people are perverting that identity. This can be infuriating. Others may not see a big difference in their beliefs, but you do.
I’ve gotten to the point where it doesn’t bug me so much. I hate that it happens, but my getting mad about it doesn’t help. These are the type of people that think the entire world is against them. If they find out you are mad at them, it only strengthens their resolve.

Also, I know it’s not really relevant but this thing with the general-usernames is starting to drive me crazy. We already have **Wesley Clark** - do we really need another four-star general? Would it kill him to use another username, like…I don’t know…anything else? If you want to keep with the cold-war military theme you could always call yourself **Bombs Away** which was LeMay’s nickname.

Well, I have been to so many doctors in my life if I get introduced to someone that is a doctor I start looking around for a place to undress … :rolleyes:
I am also one that covers up in the GYN office. It gets COLD in there … and I think they refrigerate the speculums…

My doctor has the kind that plugs in to keep it warm. I always have these thoughts of that being a terrible place and way to die - electrocution by speculum.
