The cookies look good **nellie**! **{{{emily}}}** Bad days suck. Hugs to Mrs. Magill **magic**. Knocked off @ 2 PM today, got the grocery shopping out of the way and took Nelson to the dog park. One of the noobs there was a 10 month old pup who looked like a 30 lb version of Nelson. Luck was a sweet, energetic girl. His buddies Hunter, Kaiser and Bandit were there too. After the dogpark, we slipped through Arby’s for a turkey wrap (those rock). Winter is back here. It was 32F / 0C when I got out of bed this morning. I’m still not too warm and it’s in the forties. It’s supposed to be a more seasonal sixties Sunday for the Spring picnic. I need to get busy with putting the craft table for the heathen children (mostly done, just got to get it out of the file and fill in any supplies needed). I foresee an evening of online shopping and surfing the net. Stay safe and healthy y’all! ---

Howdy Y’all! Been a kinda bzzy day for me. We did Good Friday service at noon, followed by the movin’ of stuff over to the Parish hall for Sunday when we shall celebrate Easter outdoors. Then we went to LJS for fish ‘n chips. I have been linin’ up volunteers to show up early Sunday mornin’ to setup all the necessary items for outdoor worship. Many texts have been exchanged about this and it appears all is now in order. Rah. **Wizard** hope the Mrs. gets sprung from the horsepistol soonest. The existin’ Mumper recipe blog contains many good recipes. Also, a good bit of the stuff there is a hoot to read. No ten page essays on why the recipe is important or good or the cure for everything wrong before the actual recipe is posted, but some hooty stuff within the recipes themselves. ---

Update: They discharged **Mrs Magill** this evening. They gave her two units of blood and a metric shitload of antibiotics. Her hemoglobin count has gone from 4.5 to 8.2, and she no longer looks like a reject from a vampire movie. Thank you **nellie** for the recipe, but she had requested Ina Gartner’s chocolate cake, which is now upstairs in the cake Tupperware. I appreciate everyone’s well wishes. That reminds me: I should update our rector, but I really don’t want to add any more to his plate on this weekend (the busiest of all weekends). ---

Screwed up the cookies last night. Made the dough, shaped into logs, put the logs in the fridge. Started cleaning up and realized the eggs and vanilla were hiding behind the screen of the laptop. So I took the logs back out and dumped them in the mixer, along with the eggs and then did the reshaping again. We’ll see. I’m impressed that the message board links in the Mumper recipe blog still work. Got to see some really old threads. And it seems that Mumpers are just a wee bit obsessed with deviled eggs. Speaking of which, I bought some hard-boiled eggs that were already decorated with pretty pastel colors and Easter designs. I think it’s required to eat more eggs around Easter. Beavers are cute, but I prefer they stay away from my home. Hubby’s somewhat coherent, so it’s time to start the bacon and cut up the pandoro for french toast. And I’m considering braving the grocery store for tomatoes and lettuce for tacos, which I forgot to buy. And get more orange juice. Can survive without, but would prefer to have them. Afterwards I can bake the carrot cake, and while it’s cooling, bake the icebox cookies and see what I wrought. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 34 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 67 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today is cook/prep day for tomorrow’s Easter Feast. We shall prep the scalloped N.O.T. and squish casserole. The ham will get baked, the green beans shall get cooked, and the pound cake made today. Yes, we are doin’ all the cookin’. Guests are bringin’ munchies and adult beverages. If all goes to plan we shall gather tomorrow around two to make merry and feast. Any need to feed today will be via forage. We have plenty of sammich fixin’s, so starvation shall not be a worry. **Wizard** yay for the Mrs. gettin’ sprung! Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. This reminded me of the time my MIL was making a custard pie (years ago before her eyes went.) She forgot the sugar and all the spices, so what she’d actually made was a big scrambled egg pie. You couldn’t even call it a quiche because there was no cheese or meat or anything else in it. One thing I learned from that - I get out all ingredients before I start making anything, and I set them apart as I add them so I know what’s in the bowl in case I get interrupted. **swampy** - how do your prep your scalloped N.O.T.s? I’ve never built them ahead and cooked them later, but my mom tried last week, and the whole pan turned black. I don’t know what she did, tho I do know my sis fed the mess to her resident foxes (I know you’ve seen the pics.) The only time I’ve done them from scratch is for a casserole with ham and onions that went right into the oven. Otherwise, I get a box mix kit thing. Don’t judge ---

Mornin’ all. Seems to be a busy day here. The drain stopper thingy in my vanity sink stopped going up and down, so I guess I’ll crawl around under the sink. I have the parts and tools. I hate plumbing, electricity is better. Unless you let the smoke out of the wires it works. After that it’s time for some cleaning of the abode. Now that the sun is shining in more, I can see a winter’s worth of dust. But! My new air fryer is arriving today. Gonna make some wings. Maybe some tots too. 'Spose it’s time to start things. But it’s not a huge deal to fix, other than having to crawl under the sinks and work at awkward angles. I’ll get around to it some day. Still haven’t decided what to do today. I should strip the bed, but worst case, that’ll take 20-30 minutes (worst case is Taz getting in the way.) I should probably think about what other foods I can make for the inlaws, since we’ll be heading down there in 2 weeks. I want to bake them a bunch of cookies, but I know full well if I bake them today, they’ll all be gone in 2 weeks. I’m sure something will occur to me. ---

Morning all. Got a second estimate for the gutters, it’s a couple hundred less than the first estimate, but I like the first guy more (he walked me around the house, discussed things with me, made a couple suggestions, this guy just did the work and gave me the estimate). I’ll look at the budget again this weekend and decide. Also went to a HS soccer game, they had invited the youth soccer league I coach in to come to the game, about 30 kids were there (if it hadn’t been 45F, there might have been more). Local team lost 1-3, but I was impressed with the skills. Nothing on the schedule for today, as soccer has been cancelled for the Easter weekend. Supposed to get up to 65F, so might think about doing the first mowing of the year. We’ll see. **Wizard** , good news on the Mrs. **flyboy** , congrats on the 14 years. Hope it stays stable and still works out for you in the future times. And hopefully the Mrs. has a working phone by now. **doggio** , congrats on your shots (of all types). Back in 2010, when we got the roof, gutters, windows, siding, and trim all replaced, I’d called 2 companies. One guy climbed up on the roof and walked all around the house, asking questions and taking measurements. The other guy stood in the driveway and came up with a number. Maybe he was that good at his estimations, but we went with the first guy. No regrets. Well, one regret - we should have gone with a steel roof instead of asphalt shingles. ---

**flyboy** conga-rats on the job-iversary! **Wizard** I’m glad your wife’s home and feeling better. **Dice** it sounds delicious (and I think you’re giving **Moommm** a run for her money - impressive to-do list)! **Moommm** I use a Cook’s Illustrated recipe and it’s fairly straightforward. Sliced potatoes and a mixture of cream and spices. You could put that in the fridge and cook later. The forecast for today changed from the 80s (last night) to 70 (as of this morning). For whatever reason, the WPTB cannot seem to get the forecast right for this area. I’m starting to rely on my aching bones and rings around the moon for my weather updates. Easter may or may not include my sister and her family this weekend. We’ll see how everyone feels. Take care everyone.
