Yes, we have no bananas (banana experiences?)

I just ate a banana. Now, I’ve been eating bananas, off and on, since as far back as I can recall (I’m 36).

But this banana was different. It had a … well, a core. Or a long pit. Or a long seed. I don’t know, exactly, but in the very center of the banana, there was a crunchy, thin, thing throughout the length of the banana. Also, it had a very intense banana-flavor. Much like you would expect a Banana-flavored Altoid ™ to taste like.

I can’t recall that I’ve ever found this in a banana before. I’m not looking so much for a factual answer as to whether bananas have pits/seeds/whatevers, so I didn’t put this in GQ.

But has anyone run across this before?

Oh, and this is the third banana in the bunch – the others had nothing like this.

And on preview, “banana” is a funny word to both read and type.

(And, at the risk of being compared to Bosda, I won’t be back online for about eight hours, so don’t look for me till tonight.)

Argh. Now I have the “B-A-N-A-N-A-S!” part of Gwen Stefani’s song going through my head.

I’m a banana-lover. Adore bananas. Could eat bananas all the time. Have eaten tons of bananas.

Yet I have never come across anything like this before.

I do, however, feel like going home and making banana pudding tonight.
