Look, you people in the matter/consciousness thread had one job, just one freaking job. That was to keep the Bo Pai craziness locked in that thread. One job, and you failed. Now look what’s happened. I’m a little nonplussed to find that I understand the original post of this thread pretty clearly, given the subsequent array of responses. OK, **Bo Pai** , first off, during the era when I was most recurrently persecuted and miserable about it and all, I was very uncertain that I was indeed OK. I was indeed touchy and frightened. It has indeed made a world of difference to be clear on the fact that no, I do not have some kind of horrible deficit or “wrongness” about me that makes it right that people would treat me that way. Not merely an internal difference but an external one: I was less defensive from then on and yes, that blunted a massive portion of the treatment I’d previously been exposed to. But not all. In fact, one of the very first things to happen to me once I figured out that there wasn’t really anything wrong with how I am was that I got incarcerated in a psychiatric hospital. In large part for trying to explain things to people and having no better luck than you’re having so far in this thread. Didn’t faze me much (got myself kicked OUT after a month for fomenting an uprising in the nuthouse, heh heh). More to the point, I still periodically get singled out for unpleasant attentions. Not all persecution goes away simply by failing to be defensive and scared of people. ---
