Yet another bimbo "wellness" blogger found to be a fraud

Sounds like a job well-done!

Part of me really wishes I’d taken screenshots, because I had a feeling that was going to happen. But, it wasn’t my original intention to shame or ridicule her. I just wanted to show her that her faith in the Food Babe might be misplaced.

Now, after she started getting condescending and self-righteous, I’ll admit that I wasn’t displeased that she took such a hard-line stance against dihydrogen monoxide…

It’s an in-joke about compression. You can compress computer files so that there’s no loss, such as zipping up a Word document, or having some loss such as a lower bit rate MP3 file ripped from a CD. If you can stand some loss of quality, such as the music not sounding so good or the picture not looking as good, you can compress the file into a smaller size. However since you probably don’t want to lose any of the words in your Word document, you use loss-less compression.

As far as the original statement about aircraft compression, most aircraft set the cabin pressure to something around 7,000 feet above sea level once above that altitude. Therefore at the great majority of airports in the world, you are actually more compressed before takeoff and after landing than while flying.

Today, cilantro “cleanses the blood”. People are responding in good Twitter fashion.

That explains the soapy taste.

That explains why latinos have the cleanest blood in the world.

That is just hilarious on so many different levels.

All the people reacting negatively to the Cilantro Cleanse comment must be working for the chemical industry and/or never published their masters’ theses.

There is no journalism, just the internet. Oh sure, there’s news programs but basically they just tell us about stuff they saw on the internet. Hey, I see stuff on the internet, too! What do I need them for?

In all fairness though, it’s easier to use the term “De-tox diet” over the more wordy, “I’ve been eating a lot of high fat, deep fried, sugar laden, over-processed empty calorie crap and now I think I’ll have some nice veggies and maybe a small portion of a nice lean meat and be all pompous about it.”

I prefer to remain neutral.

I despair. I can’t even sum it up, there’s too much, it’s everywhere, the lunatics are not just in our halls - they’re in all these little boxes that we wear…

Anybody got any vids of cute little kittens or puppies?

PS - Insert pH-based humor, please. Perhaps something along the lines of Aqua Regia. The fumes help my sinuses.

I hope the mods are keeping anion these.

Now you’re just playing to the base.

Yes, if you’re any indicator.

Here’s a startling revelation: The Food Babe tells us that the flu vaccine has been used for genocidal purposes.

Apparently there were no Nazi death camps; Goebbels just urged certain groups to be sure and get their flu shots. :):eek::smack:

After reading that article I saw that she’d been on Dr. Oz a couple times. Why am I not surprised? I know there was a research article that said that at least 50% of what he has on his show is crap. It’s so disappointing because here’s an actual medical professional (with a huge following) who could debunk all this dangerous stuff and actually educate people but he doesn’t. He has people on who are just shilling their “cures” or their books and he does not take the opportunity to say “well, that’s an interesting claim but do you have any actual legit studies to back up your claims? Yeah, didn’t think so.”

Oz had some other doctor on not too long ago that I could tell everything he was saying was BS so I googled his name and “quack” and sure enough there were a gazillion hits from legit sources talking about how that guy’s claims were just BS and he was just trying to sell his own products and books. I’ve forgotten his name but a lot of what he was saying sounds a lot like what this Food Babe says. The Oz show doesn’t seem to do any research on these people. They must get paid to allow them to shill.

For the record, I don’t watch Dr Oz because I want to, but the local station which is the only one that comes in well and doesn’t have worse dreck on it (ala Jerry Springer or Cheaters) and they insist on airing Oz when I have the TV on. So I watch it half-heartedly and often find myself researching shit he says to see if it’s legit or not. Unfortunately, most people just take everything he says as the truth and don’t do their own research.

I think Oz is even more dangerous than the Food Babe because he is a legitimate professional and he actually says legit stuff about half the time so people tend to believe everything he has on his show. I’m sure he’s been pitted here a time or two.

Every time she posts something, God kills a kitten.

The astonishing thing here is that someone can reach child-bearing age without having been previously exposed to the dihydrogen monoxide wheeze. Seriously, when I first saw that joke make the rounds it was via mimeographed flyers.

That bitch would probably say sniffing fresh mimeographs is toxic, too!

Dr. Hyman! That was the quack’s name. I saw Food Babe uses him as one of her sources.

I met a woman recently who was convinced she was being poisoned because she had “an autoimmune disease” that caused her body “not to reject any toxins she had ever been exposed to.” She was undergoing very expensive treatments from the one (1) person in the country who could treat this truly very horrible disorder. This one (1) person worked at a spa that didn’t have very good reviews when I looked it up on Yelp.

I once heard something about fools and their money… How did that go again?
