Might have been popular back in the 1800s…) Oh, I also noticed that you can replace: **bones bores** With “cones” in my Dodgy -\> Words solution: tones **cones** cores cords words Gets there one step faster, of course. I guess “longe” was probably the -only- combination of letters I didn’t run through [dictionary.com](http://dictionary.com) trying to solve that c.f. of a puzzle 🙂 Anywhoo! And your laziness is also my fault, and for that I am truly sorry. I also applaud Darwin, for they are obviously a better word chain solver than I. I saw longe…but never saw the longs, tongs, tones transition…stupid stupid stupid. Oh yeah…and I’m sticking with Shibb’s only at the beginning or end of the word rule. Lion -\> Pride lion lien lies lids rids ride pride I went the long way at first on that one…around 12 words…then realized I could jump right from rids to lids…::_sighs_:: Glass -\> Can (Obviously you need to take out two letters, and like you should have been doing from when Shibb first allowed it, only add or subtract from the front of back of the word). ---

[sub]I am not very good at coming up with difficult but doable ones, I think, but here goes a few. Someone else please add a couple as well[/sub] To continue a trend… **Five --\> Six** (should be easy?) **Sour --\> Sweet** **Noon --\> Night** **Dull --\> Shine** **Day --\> Light** (Remember to add at the ends, only 1 letter at a time) and back to the original style… **Four --\> Five** (tres facile, no?) \*\*Wet --\> Dry \*\* \*\*Tired --\> Happy \*\* None of these are tested, but they all seem possible. ---
