SparrowHawk,

I’m glad you like the Wacoal. 'Cause its me that pops into these threads and recommends them.

You are right, they could be prettier. I have a Victorias Secret bra or two for “special occations.” Don’t like the fit, don’t like the comfort, but my husband seems to appreciate them. He likes the Fredricks Merry Widows even more - but I ain’t wearing those darn things to work.

I can’t imagine bra shopping over the internet or through a catalog. Even if I’m getting the “exact same thing I got last time” I want to be measured and try them on. If I gain ten pounds, its in my abdomen, but if I loose it, its sure to be from my chest - so getting refitted every couple of years helps. With a sports bra in the “uniboob” style, it doesn’t make such a huge difference, but it does on the day to day bras.

I hate running around the underwear section trying to find a bra for my little missles that doesn’t involve five pounds of padding. (Then, of course, you wash it, and the pads get folded and creased, and you have strange lines down the middle of your boobs - ugh, don’t get me started.)**

It’s almost impossible for me to find any bras in my size, let alone without padding.
Generally I’m relegated to the kids section for those bras meant for thirteen year olds.
Which also means it’s very hard to find pretty bras, instead of black, white or beige.
Shopping for bras is horrible. ☹

Unless you know the joy of having to order straight from the manufacturer because shops don’t stock your size, you will never truly appreciate the awkwardness of bras.

Thank you, **Dangerosa**! I’m pretty sure I’ll be back to buy more if it holds up (pun acknowledged though unintended) as you say. It is very comfortable, but I do feel rather bovine with that extra letter added on. Maybe I’ll just snip the tag there… 😛

If you’re thirty inches in the waist, you’re probably about 33 around the ribs, add five to get a 38 band size, then +1 for a B cup. I’ve never had any problem using this size guide (available on Sears website if anyone wants to check)

Sometimes, what with the clothing issues and all, I wish **guava**! My mother wears a 36, 38B or so, (the disproportionately large boobs skip a generation, or something) and just to make her laugh I’ve put one of her bras on and acted like I was going to really wear it around for the day. I could cram about half of each boob into their respective tit hammock. It was a frightening, frightening sight.

I was going to mention Lane Bryant for some more “stylish” bras. I have 2 of the T-shirt material ones - and I absolutely love them. They are sooooo comfy, yet still very supportive. Almost a cross between a sports bra and a regular bra. I also have a few other ones from there that are a comfortable lace. And in fun colors - hot pink and lime green. I got them on clearance so I really lucked out on price.

I wear a 44C and that is sometimes hard to find. Very broad shoulders. I believe I got a nice sexy black lace bra at Wal-Mart once. You really have to dig around for the right size, but might be worth it.

Slight Hijack… I hate it when guys think my boobs are huge because of the 44 part. I mean they aren’t small by any means… but jeez learn something about bra size guys !

Do y’all have one bra that just fits really well?

Mine is a black, front hook used-to-be-underwire (I cut the wires out immediately) that is losing cellular integrity. It is called 'the molecules" because there isn’t much left of it. I’ve considered taking it to a custom bra shop (Pennyrich) and having it duplicated, but I may have to rethink that idea, because the bloating issue (I have liver metasteses from my cancer) causes problems with fit.

For a big person, I have little boobular tissue (especially now), so with enough clothes, I can do without. Kinda nice, actually.
