I read that too. I do not believe that are after a real reform. They will twist it into something that benefits them.

Our system is causing us trouble in more ways than just cost. The insecurity of coverage and denial of service eat away at people. Then you can be chained to a job because you are unable to move if you or your family members may be sick. If you quit the next company can claim you had an existing condition and refuse coverage. I worked with a guy who left a job when his wife was pregnant. There were complications and he went broke trying to keep up with the bills.
http://mediamattersaction.org/blog/200905120010 Rick Scott who is so articulate in his hatred of changing the system bilked it out of a ton of money. Yes indeed, he is a good person to listen to.
Here are experiences that Americans have had with foreign health care systems. Why do they put up with this kind of treatment?
Of course it will benefit them. Wal-Mart is putting in doc-in-a-box clinics in its larger stores, and they finally realized that if everybody has employer-provided health insurance, then more people will use their clinics. Henry Ford pioneered the concept by building cars his employees could afford, thereby creating a market for his product that did not exist before. Wal-Mart is doing the same thing. I think they will get rich, and employees will get insurance. I don’t see any downside.
Ford actually tried to by-pass the health industry. He came up with Ford Hospitals and Clinics. They became huge and are just big time hospitals and part of the medical system now. They do not service just employees. They are part of the problem instead of the solution now.
I worked at a place that tried to provide health care outside the system. They hired a doctor and nurse and started a clinic. You could bring any member of your family in for care. I liked the idea but never got sick when I was there. So I do not know how well it worked.
Wal-Mart scares the hell out of me. They are one of the nastiest corporations in the world. They were a big pusher of outsourcing . They have shown very little regard for their employees.
