# Yet another kitty health question

Thanks again, all—I’ll keep you updated. As of now, it’s my MOM who needs to “mellow,” she’s understandably upset about all this. Me, I’ve been living with a cat who’s supposed to have been dead from a heart condition for ten years now, so I’m a little more relaxed about these things . . .

Eve, has your mom changed their usual brand of kitty litter? I tried to introduce Pumpkin to clumping litter and noticed a few days later that he was losing hair on his back legs. Since the litter was the only big difference in his life, I went back to his old brand and the hair grew back.

Seems to be two different issues. Am I right: Eve’s mom’s cat is biting his fur off; the hair’s not mysteriously coming off so that one may guess the brand of kitty litter may be at cause.

I hate to encourage you, Asspa, but I thought it possible he was already losing fur from a source of irritation and his biting and licking of the most affected areas only exacerbated the problem.
