Did you guys think that the Project for the New American Century was over?
When you want to doninate the world, that makes pretty much everybody your enemy.

Jeezus. What an extraordinary attitude.
What - you consider Assad a friend of the US?
Thanks for reminding me of what ridiculous pretzels people can tie themselves into while attempting to make partisan cheap shots about complex problems.
Both sides are bad, but clearly Assad is the lesser of two evils. (Seriously, would you rather see ISIS win?) Under the circumstances, we need to accept Assad as the best leader that we can realistically have under the circumstances. The “moderate” rebels are so disorganized & pathetic that they’re not really worth considering, and it’s questionable how moderate they ever were to begin with (most of them are/were alligned with al-Qaida). The Kurds have it together, but their interest is Kurdistan, and nobody else in the region will accept having them in charge anyway.
That approach hasn’t worked out too well for Lebanon. Why would Syria fare better?
I don not see anything for Syria except endless civil war. Even if Assad resigns. The fact is, there are now so many well armed factions, with scores to settle, that this will keep the conflict going. Maybe the muslim imamas should issue a fatwah banning war?
