Open can of soup, pour in pan…heat , add crackers I like a little soup with my crackers:p
Hot toast with peanut butter spread thickly upon it, then covered with a thin layer of salt. Add sliced banana, bacon, and tabasco sauce and make it into a toast sandwich. By God it’s good, utterly filling, and perfect for when you’re plastered.
If you’re looking for just a snack then chili or stew, made ahead and left over are great–these types of things always taste better left over.
If you’re looking for a meal, invest in a crock pot. www.justcrockpotrecipes.com is a great site and has very quick recipes. Just toss everything in the pot and it’s hot and ready when you get home–and even tougher cuts of meat come out nice and tender.
That is why I always have a pint of some frozen dessert (ice cream, yoghurt sorbet) in the freezer.
Ack! I just tried my link and the site is under construction! Sorry about that. If anyone is interested, email me and I can share some of the good crock pot recipe sites I’ve found.
I usually have potatos on hand and throw one in the microwave then load it with cheese and top it with a veggie (whatever I have) either this or I starve
Starter: Hot buttered toast
Main Course: Cheese and ham on toast with some Bovril on top
Pudding: Toast with strawberry jam.
The toaster is your friend.
I hate those froofy steamed up squishy eggs. Go ahead and make them yourself, but ptooey!
Ok. I technically only eat the whites anyway. The smell, taste, everything about egg yolks repulses me. But I still don’t like froofy puffed up eggs. Stop with that never talk, some of us like them that way.
You mean to tell me that there are no truck stops within a half hour drive? Truck stops are ALWAYS open, even on holidays, and the national chains (T of A, Flying J, Petro) include pretty good sit-down restaurants.
Just saw the OP’s location. Never mind.
Sometimes, I toast a bagel lightly and then spread some cream cheese (fat-free, low fat, or normal, it doesn’t matter), then take a few pickle spears, suck away as much of the juice as I can, put them on top of the cream cheese, and eat it that way. Though that’s really more of a meal.
Bran flakes are good, especially with a little bit of sugar. If you put in just a little bit of half and half–about as much as you’d put in coffee–it makes the milk just a little bit richer, and you can feel like you’re eating dessert while staying regular.
I dearly love grilled ham’n’cheese sandwiches. These days, however, I’m more likely to drizzle some mustard over a couple of slices of rye bread, put ham on one slice and Swiss cheese on the other, and put both slices in my toaster oven. I love my toaster oven. I’ve also been known to put slices of bread topped with slices of cheese in that toaster oven. Just make sure that nothing hangs over the edges of the bread.
Sandwich’s and cereal has gotten me through these last 4 years of straight mids(or has it been only 3?). Recently though the MickeyDee’s have gone 24/7 in Omaha. And I’ve put on 20 pounds. A pox on a number 4 super sized with a coke. A pox I say.
