That lake experiment fails to take into account the fact that the lake itself is concave. That “bulge of 32cm” thing only works if the lake is presumed to precisely follow the Earth’s curvature. If the lake dips into the Earth’s surface enough it will locally counteract the effect of Earth’s global (heh…) curvature on the water’s surface. ---

karol would be fun to play with, but he’s completely incapable of responding fully to his threads. He’ll throw out the occasional one-line response, but he hasn’t done or said anything substantial beyond linking to YouTube conspiracy videos or nonsense walls of text. ---
