Well, generally, Billy, if someone makes a hard-to-believe claim and then does not back it up with some kind of evidence (something more concrete than “it was on TLC” somewhere), people tend to write off the claim and the person as frivolous, unless it’s on a matter terribly important to them. It’s not terribly important to me and you can’t be bothered to supply the evidence so…
(Word of advice: don’t be expecting people to take you seriously on this site if you can’t or won’t support your claims.)
Whoa, hold on a moment here… If I’m reading that last post right, Billythekid stated that he no longer considers the Shroud to be genuine, due to new evidence he’s seen. In other words, he’s changed his mind on something relating to religion, for a rational reason. I think that this has to be the first time in my life that I’ve ever seen that happen, much less on this message board. I think that Billy deserves congratulations.
It is true i do not think that the shroud is as real as i thought I am not saying that i do not belive that Jesus died for us i am very in to god and jesus and as for the post with the Dam only other word i do not like it. And what is with the jokes it has nothing to do with this post i was try to prove something that i that was right but had a mistake and i am a man to say so so that is all i will not post back So long to all of the people you said stuff about the shroud and as for the other people
GO to church read the bible and open youre mind to the possible.

I know you said that you won’t post here again, but I’m curious. How old are you? If you have been asked this before or offered the information before, I apologize. I don’t know.
My reason for asking is, you seem to not want to conform to some basic rules that help you get through life. You seem to be fairly bright, from your responses.
You have to understand that, while many of the posters here are agnostics, atheists, liberals, and just plain not into organized religion, you might score points for continuing to post in an informative style. While I myself, fall into the group above, I don’t object to you posting. I am certainly impressed with your ability to say that you might have been wrong with previous assumptions. Wish we could all do that.
Jesus is a close, personal friend of mine and I found the leisure suit post funny, even when I found out it was told by a Jew. That is becuase the ‘joke’ was a nonsensical parody. If the joke was explicitly ‘anti-Christian’ in anyway, then maybe I would be offended. And by ‘anti-Christian’ I mean downright nasty and meanspirited, not just simply poking fun at the foibles of Christians.
And that’s why, in order to tell some jokes about a class of people you better belong to the class, or just not tell it at all.
And all this time, I’ve been waiting for someone to ask whether Florence referred to the city in Italy, or Mary’s close friend (they played mah-johngg, it’s all there, documented, in the apothecary, those books that were left out of the Bible because their authors didn’t pay enough kick-back to the gang who set the cannon*.)
Giving rise to the famous song:
In a canon, in a cavern,
Excavating for a rhyme
Well, CK, we were stunned by the image of Jesus, after some drunk has spilled wine on his suit and then said “Oo, ring around the collar”, giving Mary the Look…
Otherwise, we might have caught onto that Florence thing.
First thing first think you to the person you said i was intellagent second i am 15 i don’t know if i am intellagent i just like to debate and it is summer so this looked fun. I am sorry if i made it that big of a deal.

Billythekid, you’ve come to the right place! If you like to debate, you will find that you’re in good company here. Many of the posters here are intelligent and knowledgeable and you can learn a lot from them. (I know I have.) Humor is also often used on the site, so posters here learn not to take offense too quickly at jokes or puns.
You will notice that many of these posters also like to see good punctuation being used, like periods. It makes the posts much easier to read, and it’s a good thing to practice good syntax, because often people might judge your intelligence from your writing skills.
To quote you, “opening your mind” is a good practice, as you’ve shown yourself by slightly changing your opinion on the shroud of Turin. I myself have had several of my opinions challenged on this message board, which has caused some questioning on my part of several of my strongly held beliefs.
CK is a veritable master of telling tall tales such as the one above. Does it matter that he is a Jew? No. In fact, most Christians would not tell such a story for fear of being struck down by lighting or something. CK does not have such a fear.
CK is very knowledgeable about the bible even the appendix that Christians call the NT as he puts it. It was humourous as it was intended to be. He said nothing about Christians being stupid nor did he use any words that would be negative stereotypes of Christians, unlike the N word that was spoken of.
I am a Christian and I thought it was funny. Thanks CK.
Hmmm… I don’t believe in any organized religion… and I’ve told many an organized religion themed joke… guess that means I’m going straight to… well, where?
