Hey I am entertained. I think the OP has a point that some people may get addicted to love-ins and that love-ins have a negative effect on the subject because they connect moaning about stuff that is a part of normal life with hugs and stuff. As I say they get addicted to this and the next time they meet someone they start moaning to them about previous people treating them like shit, and the new guy-girl gets extremely bored and fed-up with the whining quickly and decides to give the whiner another love-in opportunity by dumping them (actually is the OP’s point or mine?) . ---

Not everyone shows up to offer hugs and encouragement in a thread. Some do, but those who don’t…well…they don’t! The masses still sit to the side, not offering blind support…not caring to risk be ignorant because they don’t know the whole story (or the other side of the story). It’s the nature of threads that they tend to draw in people who sympathize and believe the person…they believe the OP posting is being honest. Some offer support because they’ve seen posters who act a bit suicidal. In any event, don’t judge the group (the SDMBers) by the actions of a few over -ympathetic & very trusting few. I’d recommend you call out that type of poster and invite them to the pit. Obviously, you must know some examples, so find them and get it going. Otherwise, you are perpetuating ignorance, and that is the opposite of what we are trying to accomplish here. Thanks. ---
