I agree my life is more busy complicated than many, but I compensate with organization (such as keeping that extra key handy).
I have so much I want to do, and little time outside work to do it. For me, given my goals, keeping busy working toward those goals is a good thing. Others may view that as unwanted âcomplicationâ.
Also, people who live in apartments tend to have more keys, but that doesnât necessarily make their lives much more complicated. You still gotta do laundry and check the mail, it just takes an extra couple of keys to do it.

I have my car key, house key, padlock key, remote starter, multi-tool, mag-lite, and nail clippers on my keychain.
You should see how many keys I carry for work.
Mine is a complex life.

Iâve got a very boring and uncomplicated life, but a sh\*tload of keys.
Iâve broken them into 3 seperate rings, one ring for vehicles, one for house/garage/padlocks, and one for the office. Although, carrying all 3 rings at once does give me a rather large bulge in my drawersâŚ

The title of this thread isnât true all the time. I know people who have keys for things that theyâll never use/see again: old apartments, school locks, cars theyâve sold, etc.
Some people keep lots of keys to _appear_ to be more important or busy than they really are.

Just a reminder to retrieve keys from the contractor who builds your home or change the locks when you move in.
DH is a master carpenter and has a key junk drawer that I purge every year or so. He finishes a job, throws the key in the drawer (without tagging it) and they are all pitched whenever I get in the mood.
Now, DH is beyond reproach in the honesty department and would never even consider entering a home after heâs finished. There are those that would though ⌠so get your keys back!

My desk has my âSuprakeyâ in it, an electronic gizmo whereby you insert it in the slot, punch in your code, and it opnes the doors in the office. Easy than a key, and we know who has been where.

I have about 20 keys on my keychain. I use exactly two.
Car key
Office front door key
I donât know what the rest are for.
I discovered today that I donât even have a key to my house, **any door** , on my keychain. I do, however, think I still have a key to my parentsâ house. I canât be certain.
(I use the garage door opener to get in and out of the house.)
