So we started out with 2 broken SSLAWs, went to a non runnging 3g belt, and then hopped over to non running Yellow belt. Morning, all. Going to be a chilly week here in SoCal, with the temps. bouncing between mid-50s during the day and mid 30s at night. The cats have totally given up on hunting sunbeams and are alternately curling up in their new beds or yowling at me for perceived slights. Got a bit of rain in the early morning hours. Just enough to make everything wet, but not enough to wash the collected leaves in front of my driveway. Last week of regular classes before Finals, so Iā€™m gearing up for all the sob stories Iā€™m going to get about missing assignments. Boo-hoo. Thereā€™s the box of tissue. You had plenty of warning. Glad to hear all the good news on the critter front. Makes my day shiny. Fly low, stay warm and remember, if youā€™re getting flak, it means you are over a target. ---

I left work yesterday morning at 7:00, and drove to Tik Tok for breakfast. When I walked out at about 8:30, it was beginning to snow. I hadnā€™t been snowed on since 1982 (and this was the first time Iā€™d ever driven in it). It continued for about eight hours. Fortunately, temperatures stayed above 32F, so the streets never got icy that evening. But this morning, it was 30F as I drove to my physical exam. No precipitation, though, so I donā€™t need to get snow chains yet. YET. ---

Is there a holiday I forgot about? My trash didnā€™t get picked up - I peeked in the next door neighborā€™s bin, and theirs wasnā€™t picked up either, so itā€™s not like they just skipped me for some reason. I heard (and briefly saw on the next street over) the trash truck rattling around, so it was in the neighborhood. Howdy Yā€™all! Been slothinā€™ away here. We also achieved nappage. Go Us! Who knows whatā€™s next! Did get the chikin ready for the chikin ā€˜n dumplinā€™s, so thereā€™s that. In a while it will get made. I am goinā€™ to make some dumplinā€™s and use some refrigerated ones we got at the stoā€™. Sometimes I use tortillas cut into strips but not today. We do need to day drink. Havenā€™t done that yet. **GodBod** sorry about your friend. True she may not have access to the internet if sheā€™s in rehab. Hope she reaches out soon. Slowly working through Mt. Laundry. Got the stuff that was in the dryer _all put away_ (go me) and dried/brought up my undies and work shirts. In a fit of ambition, I even started one more load of bedding, which I can hear is currently on spin cycle. I also scooped the litter box. As a reward for so much ā€œgettinā€™ shit done while feeling like shitā€ I took myself out for a hot dog, and got a cup of hot potato soup to go with it. No cooking, no dishes, plus I have green onions to doctor up the soup. Got me outta the house for a change of scenery for a few minutes. I blew my nose _a lot_ earlier and now one of my ears feels all plugged up. I can kinda hear, so I donā€™t think I damaged it, but itā€™s sore and stuffy and I haz an unhappy. Wheee. Thus endeth the report of my exciting life. ---

I also need to work through Mt. Laundry, though my kids are apparently in line for the wash before me. Itā€™s that time again - time to put the tree up and decorate it. Only in our family, our tradition also includes my mom ā€œshoppingā€ my tree. She keeps giving me ornaments she insists she doesnā€™t want but that are ā€œtoo good to give away.ā€ I agree, so I put them on my tree. She comes through the house, remembers why she likes them, takes them off my tree and I replace them with ornaments from Lowes and Tar-Jay. Itā€™s mildly aggravating, though not really - Iā€™m happy that sheā€™s feeling well enough to do it. This weekend involved running/waddling a 5K and taking the boy to his SAT. Oh, and the husbandā€™s surgery went off well. Poor guy is still having trouble sitting down. He talked to the nurse this morning to tell her how heā€™s doing and she yelled at him for not following the directions she gave him. At least it didnā€™t have to be me this time! Funny how when I repeat what the nurse said itā€™s harping, but when she tells him itā€™s medical advice. Off to consider drinking an afternoon espresso. I shouldnā€™t. But I want to. But I shouldnā€™t. But I want to. ---

It was mostly sunny and quite nice when I went to the mailbox about an hour ago. Itā€™s now quite windy, with thick gray clouds rolling in. As of last time I looked at the weather forecast, we now do not have ANY day in the next 10 with less than a 11% chance of rain. Must get busy on some defilthing. ---

Howdy all. 7-8 hours on and itā€™s still raining outside, did my shopping and got my Jersey Mikeā€™s #3 but see no other reason to depart the house today. More rain tonight but ā€˜onlyā€™ a 50% chance tomorrowā€¦ At least I did get all my e-mails out this afternoon, so that much is done. Now when I get the responsesā€¦ No Mt. Posting in the MMP on an actual Monday! Woot!! Yesterdayā€™s brunch was great: good food, and my two friends and I wound up sitting there and talking for 4 hours (!). Weā€™re all singers, and met via a jazz workshop 10+ years ago. We usually only see each other when weā€™re out hearing music, so it was wonderful to be able to just talk and _really_ catch up with each other. And I ate whatever I wanted! The restaurantā€™s table bread is cornbread, and itā€™s phenomenal so I had a piece; for my entree I had most of a very yummy French Dip sandwich, plus a couple of fries; then the three of us split a piece of cherry pie for dessert (I may or may not have eaten nearly all of the whipped cream). I got home shortly after 5pm, and was pretty stuffed for the rest of the day so I just snacked a little last night. Not a great food day nutritionally, but worth it! šŸ™‚ Tomorrow Iā€™m having dinner at Chipotle with someone from my support group before our meeting. She seems very nice. Sheā€™s only six months further post-op, weā€™re about the same age, and we both watched our mothers struggle with/die young from weight issues. Could maybe be a new friend, but weā€™ll seeā€¦I donā€™t tend to _really_ like other people that much. šŸ˜‰ I hope **FCDaughter** shows up soon! Time to migrate from the home office to the living room. I canā€™t find my boots. The wimmen folks, in a fit of ā€˜organizingā€™ last spring, ā€˜put them awayā€™. Now nobody knows where they are. I am not amused. Other than that, itā€™s quite nice here with all the tourists gone. Left over curry for dinner tonight. We made it with pork instead of chicken last night. It was different, but not better. No other news from here.
