# You can't get Radio/TV Marti in Cuba -- but they'll soon broadcast in Florida

Story [here.](http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/business/16270804.htm) For years some [have questioned](http://www.cjr.org/issues/2002/2/voice-grossman.asp) the money the U.S. government spends on its anti-Castro propaganda outlets [Radio Marti](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Marti) and [TV Marti,](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_Marti) considering that the Cuban government jams the broadcasts. But now they’ve found a way to justify the expense: Broadcast in South Florida! Even though broadcasting government propaganda inside the U.S. is technically illegal . . . but they found a loophole . . .

Isn’t it illegal for the gummint to completely subsidize one channel broadcasting anti-Castro propaganda when all the other channels broadcasting anti-Castro propaganda in Miami need to find sponsors? Just seems un-American. Even communistic.
