In other words, Clothy’s so outright stupid that he honestly believes he’s qualified to diagnose (nonexistent, imaginary) psychological problems in people based on aesthetic choices. One presumes he also can tell if you’re depressed by the type of hat you wear. ---

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that’s got to be the strangest idea for why people get tattoos I’ve ever heard. I’ve heard a few misguided opinions as to why I have tattoos, but I’ve never before been told I have psychological problems. Just for the record, my tattoos don’t make me better. I didn’t need them to make me prettier; I’m already pretty. “Improved” - nah, don’t really see that one either. I understand you don’t like tattoos, **Clothahump** , and I respect your right to dislike and insult them. But assigning psychological problems to someone who does something you don’t like or agree with speaks more to your having issues than it does to me having issues. ---

Some people without tattoos go around insulting people with them and insisting that no one should have a tattoo. If not, why not? If I brush my hair in the morning, I think that makes me “prettier.” How is that different? I’m still altering my physical appearance, no? ---

During my first year of law school, a classmate saw my tattoos and the ring in my nostril and asked me what sort of crippling self esteem problems would cause me to deface my body like that. Two and a half years later, I was sitting on the stage during graduation for having graduated at the top of my class. I often wondered if she looked up from the audience at me and thought “Hey, there’s that poor bastard with the cripplingly low self esteem!” 😃 ---
