“Ulsterisation” was the term the Brits used for turning over control of day-to-day security matters to the RUC and UDR (and we all know how well _that_ worked :rolleyes: ). So it’s not difficult to see how they came up with “Iraqiisation”, though admittedly it doesn’t flow nearly as well. ---

It comes from “Vietnamization”, which was used during that war to denote the idea of transferring military responsibility from US troops to their Vietnamese counterparts. I only wish we were actually doing that in Iraq… ---

I’ve used “liaising” for years (like, back when I actually used to _do_ it … har har har). One of my former, er, liaisons accidentally came up with the word “belignorant”, which I think would be quite useful in certain situations. ---
