# You get one free luxury item for life! Due to a series of events I am not clever enough to describe, it has been deemed that you get one free luxury item in your life. That item is paid for and so is the upkeep, for the rest of your life. When you go, the item goes too. Rules: - You can’t make money off your luxury item - for example, you can’t rent out your yacht or sell your mansion. You’re going to have to keep your life and your job. - All taxes, storage and maintenance fees are taken care of. If you want to add on to your item when new technology becomes available (say you want to add a new 3D player to your Luxury Home Theater in 10 years), that’s on you. There are no free upgrades. - Then again, since you have a job, you can pay for upgrades yourself if you want. - Your item isn’t magic - it will get old just like any item. But at least you have top-notch maintenance on your side. Me, I think I’d want a private jet. I’d love to travel the world but booking flights, waiting in airports and sitting on a commercial plane just seems too daunting to me. I would be totally cool with living in my dumpy house in my dumpy neighborhood if I could just up and go to Scotland for the weekend! ---

Is fuel and similar consumables included? If so, I’ll take an airplane. Doesn’t need to be a jet, just a nice, solid, single-engine piston airplane. 'Cause I miss flying. ---

Yes, consumables are included. You don’t have to pay to fuel your race car, your boat or your airplane. You don’t have to pay for gas, electric or water in your mansion. Pilots, captains and limo drivers are included. Hmm … I will add two caveats… - In the case of Super Luxury Home Theaters, you do need to supply your own media (DVDs, films, etc) - In the case of mansions, you will need to do your own cleaning and yardwork. ---

How about a personal chef? Does that work? And if I can make up an item, then I want one of those Jane Jetson tubes you slide down and it dresses you and fixes your hair. I hate picking out clothes and fixing my hair in the mornings. ---

I am a simple woman with simple needs…the only luxury item I pine for is a huge (really, really huge) deep jacuzzi bathtub where I can spend my cold winter days lolling amongst the bubbles and hot water, reading a book, sipping my Diet Pepsi and nibbling bon-bons. ---

It would have to be a sailboat. We’ve always had older, in need of some serious work sailboats. Since all the upkeep and all is included, I’m guessing we’d get a motorsailer in the 55-60’ range with all the best electronics, a good diesel engine, bow thruster, electric winches and anchor windlass, walk-around berth in the captain’s cabin, separate shower in the head, a full galley with refrigeration, a working oven, and ample storage, air conditioning, dodger and bimini, plus awnings when not underway, cockpit cushions, plenty of cup holders, and all the dock lines and fenders we’d ever need. I’d leave it to my husband to pick the specific make and model - he reads all the sailing magazines and he has definite opinions on boats. I just know the features I like, and he and I are in agreement on the boats we don’t like so that works. ---

if cost is no issue I will gladly take a custom built home thanks. but I really dont get how yard work doesnt fall under maintenance? in any case having a rocking place to live fully paid for? are you kidding me? thats a fortune saved over a life time. ---
