I can’t seem to find them, but this story reminds me of those hysterical Easter cards from the Onion. As I remember them, one was of Jesus with an Easter basket over his arm, hopping like a bunny up the hill to Golgotha, and the other was of the Easter Bunny crucified. Both had that “Sunday School”-style art - grinning sun, happy flowers. Very “coloring book.” And hilarious. 😃 ---

A former colleague of mine used to teach in Japan. She attributes the following to Asian unfamiliarity with Western Christian traditions and the similarity of Japanese renderings of “cross” and “claus”. But around Christmas time, in a major Japanese city, she was treated to the sight of a department store window display featuring a crucified Santa. ---
