Some of you probably know that my boyfriend is out of town. He’s been gone since last Tuesday, and was expected home tomorrow.

Well he called me around 9 PM tonight. The flight is delayed because of the storm in NYC. He won’t be able to get on a flight until 8:55 PM \*\*tomorrow \*\* night and then only maybe. So he definitely won’t be home until Monday, maybe Tuesday even.

I know a lot of you have long-distance relationships, and I’ve got it really good compared to many people. I’ve got someone that loves me. So I tried all week not to complain too much, but be cheerful about it, etc.

But I just couldn’t go any longer without sharing it.

I really miss him. ☹ Damn snow.

Well, my wife is stuck in Boston until this all clears. That means another 4 days added onto the week and a half the business trip has taken.

I’d say you are getting off lightly, missy! 😃

I’m sorry to hear it. Doesn’t it just suck? I can’t even call him, though. The 30 seconds we talked were all we’ve talked all week.

Ok, time to get off this self-pity schtick.

I’m expecting a call any minute, so that puts me one up! 😃

It’s a bitch when we are apart, but needs must when the devil drives, and the pursuit of filthy lucre takes precedent until we win the lottery. Hang in there. He’ll be back soon, and in the meantime you have US! 😃

I had to walk to work this morning, because I couldn’t get any traction on my bicycle ☹ (If I had knobblies, I’d a been, but I’m rolling on slicks.) It’s about boot-top high on the sidewalks, so I walked on the street. 35 minutes without seeing a cab or a bus-- and the heavy stuff is supposed to start in an hour.

😕 I have no idea what this sentence means. It seems to be English, but I can’t translate it.

I am sorry you had to walk, though.

If his bike tires were made more like snow tires, with small “knobs” projecting outward to provide traction, he could ride in the snow, but his bike currently has a very fine tread (such as is found on the old classic “10 speeds”) that is, effectively, smooth, and he cannot ride his bike because the smooth tread will not grip the snow (as it is designed for pavement).

Damn, I’m sorry I was snarky to you in the Scylla/Chewie thread. I was sure your deprivation was almost over.

Hang in there. And have some more hot cocoa. (Or go for some nice mulled cider)

On the contrary, OtakuLoki, I didn’t think you were snarky at all. I thought it was nice of you to notice I’m not usually on on the weekends.

All is forgiven. And no hot cocoa, or cider, but coffee with creme de menthe or creme de cacao. 😉

We need to start a thread:

“What does \*\*tomndebb \*\* not know about?”

Thank you, though, now that you explain it it all makes sense.
