The best temperature data available for the last 2000 years shows a gradual climb up to a high around the year 1200 called the Medieval Warming period; a somewhat sharper and deeper decline from that peak down to a low in the 17th-19th centuries called the Little Ice Age; and then from the end of the 19th century onward a dramatically sharp rise in temperature. It looks a lot like a _cooling_ trend was suddenly interrupted. ---

Yes, it’s only one piece of the puzzle … but other pieces of the puzzle are also falling into place. We’ve a long way to go still, of course, and it really does come down to us using the atmosphere as a sewer. It’s up to us to stop overloading it. Think globally, act locally. ---
