…that a whole bunch of teenage girls think I’m cute and great and wonderful. The problem is that I’ve been out of high school for almost a decade. Where were girls like these when I was in high school? I love my wife and wouldn’t trade my life with her for anything in the entire world, but it would have been nice to have a few more dates during my teenage years. ---

I think that generally speaking high school guys are not the most perfect match, maturity-wise, for a lot of high school girls. We more or less even out sometime later. ---

That’s 'cause they’re teenagers. I remember how my friends and I crushed on a 20-something TA. Now I wonder what the hell we were thinking (he wasn’t very attractive, physically or socially), but I sort of know –– it was something like ‘Oh god I’m bored and all the guys my age are in the greasy, smelly grips of puberty while I’m good to go, dammit.’ The best way to kill these crushes on the spot is usually to act on them (NOT that I’m recommending it). ---

I’m 27 at the moment, over the past few years I’ve heard through the grapevine that a few of the cashiers have like liked me. Too bad I’m married and they were 16. ---

I hear ya’. There’s an 18 year old high school girl at work who not only likes me, but has essentially said she wants a romp in the sack with me. I’m 25, and while I’ve seen bigger differences for ages (I’ve seen 27 and 28 year olds with high schoolers,) that doesn’t mean it’s not creepy. I feel bad that I have to reject her, but I’m not going near that. Which is too bad, because she is cute…but no! Not happening! ---

I get this a bit at the places where I have worked where some younger workers or volunteers are there. Apparently, my somewhat cynical tone and wry humor make a big impression on them, and more than one has developed a crush on me (eek!). Apparently, one of them was dating another one of the younger volunteers and on their last date she bent his ear for a couple of hours about how cool she thought I was and such. Poor guy, he didn’t deserve that. As for her, I hope that medication might have ended her delusions. 😃 ---

Don’t worry. It _always_ happens. You can’t buy a date when you’re single, but the moment you get into a relationship, then all the hot ones notice you. Or so it seems. I was just taking about this with one of my friends, who is also happily married. I had just been hit on by an attractive woman the other day, and we commented that it seems you only get that when you’re in a relationship. I think it’s selective memory. It’s also true that I was clueless when I was younger and wouldn’t have been aware if someone was interested. ---

I don’t know her from work though - she’s the younger sister of a friend but…damn dude…I think you and I are twins who were separated at birth :eek: ---

I’ve found the older I get the more attractive I am to women. I think women dig men that have some money and experience. Also not having anything to prove helps, attitude counts a lot. ---

I graduated at 17 (the cutoff date for New York state is December 1, so there are always a handful of kids who are almost a year younger than their many of their peers in any given grade) and I said “almost a decade” (it’s been 9 years since I’ve been out). Thus, 26. Oh, and most of these girls are in the 16-17 range (with a few being younger). Being a male librarian has garnered me quite the fan club (including one little girl who’s mother thought it was so cute she had a crush on me we used to joke about it all the time. This joking inadvertantly introduced me to my wife). ---
