To answer the OP, yes, I do know my name appears at the top of each post, but I sign my name, (Q, Quasi, Quasimodem, Bill) because it makes each thing I write a little more personable. I usually sign my real name when the subject being discussed is of a serious nature. That’s the one time I don’t use my nickname (and that isn’t meant to criticize anyone who doesn’t, it just means that’s part of my personality). But I had no idea until I read this thread that it bothers people, so thanks for letting me know. Q ---

Martian, I think Quasi’s point was that he doesn’t sign all of his posts the same way. Signing “Bill” vs. “Q” means something. What does it hurt for him to do that? It’s one word at the end of a post. It’s not like a multi-line piece of ASCII art or something. ---
