I’m too lazy to do this, but it would be interesting to go through post histories and see where the people who want to control how others post stand on issues like drug legalization, second amendment rights, breastfeeding in public, off-leash dogs, smoking on the street, and so on. Is the complaint about how other people write their posts just one example of a general urge to crack down on what other people are doing, or is it the _only_ area where they feel that urge? ---

Alright, I’ll come clean. The sole reason I sign my posts is that I like to create some speculation about the mmm, which can be interpreted in any number of ways (until a light goes on over someone’s head and he or she realizes it is merely initials). For those using reasoning for signing their posts as “I don’t know, I have just always done it since I’ve been here, you can ignore me if you want to”, make about as much sense as persons not signing their posts because “I don’t know, I just have never done it so I don’t do it, you can ignore me if you want to”. I mean there are several high quality posters/contributors who regularly sign their posts - it just seems pompous to me. It’s not that the posters themselves seem pompous, just the act of signing their posts since in the very least it’s redundant to do so. So what is the real reason to sign one’s post except “it’s tradition”? ---
