You know you’re a doper when you nearly stand up and yell “Cite please!” (or “false dichotomy!”) during a sermon. Or when you just expect a higher standard of debate than you actually get; I just had one on another message board where I stated a fact about a certain company’s policy and backed it up with a link to the company’s website where they explicitly state this particular detail of their policy. Someone in the thread responded “Disagree, sorry”. WTF? Disagree with what, exactly? ---

And it’s easier than explaining what the SD _is_ to a cow-orker or acquaintance. I have attributed information/anecdotes from the SDMB as: [ul][li]“This messageboard…”[/li][li]“An article I read…”[/li][li]“Something I heard at work…” (well, I was reading it on my lunchbreak)[/li][li]“Something a friend told me…”[/li][li]“Something I learned from playing Trivial Pursuit…” (when someone questions where I heard some obscure factoid)[/li][li] And many other excuses.[/li][/ul] I also often say (or at least think of): Cite!
