I lived in San Diego until I was 15, before I moved to Northern L.A. County and eventually to L.A. I remember several of those. (Actually, I found the page because I was looking for Picnic’n Chicken).
I know why The Boomtown Rats did _I Don’t Like Mondays_.
I took note of the PSA crash (though I wasn’t living there at the time).
My first Jack In The Box was the one on Balboa near the freeway.
FedMart and Gemco.
When I was a kid, Earl Scheib would paint any car any colour for $29.95.
I never listened to The Mighty 690. When I was a kid I listened to Fun-Lovin’ KCBQ. I have a _Homegrown_ LP from KGB.
My plans to see _The Rocky Horror Picture Show_ were nixed because my sister told my parents there were perverts in it.
I remember things mentioned by people who commented.
Picnic’n Chicken. I loved it when I was a kid. I went there once back in the '80s or '90s, and it wasn’t as good as I remembered.

San Diego native here. Born at Scripps Memorial in La Jolla (now a luxury condo).
When I was growing up, the canyons and mesas started across the and went on for miles and miles.
Elvira? Ha…I’ve got an autographed photo of Moona Lisa.
I was on Johnny Downs’ TV show and went to summer school at the Zoo. Saw the Padres play at Westgate Park.

I went to UCSD for most of the 80’s getting my degrees in M.E. I remember a lot of these. I loved Mr. Frosty. Is it gone now? I wouldn’t be caught dead at Diego’s. That place was nothing but frat boys and yuppies.

I remember a commercial or news promo that said ‘Go all the way, with Al Coupé!’ (Coo-pay. Not sure of the spelling.) Anyone remember who this guy was?
Most San Diegans\* remember this jingle: _See Pearson Ford - They stand alone at Fairmont and El Cajon!_
\*I was born in L.A. (actually Lakewood), but lived in San Diego from four to 15; so I consider myself a ‘native’ San Diegan since that’s where I was a child and where I attended school.

Al Coupee, about whom I asked earlier, was a sportscaster on KGTV.
A couple of other memories:
‘Equis-Tay-Erray-Ah, Tijuana, Mexico’
‘KGTV, That’s Entertainment!’
As a small child, I was bummed [Hobo Kelly](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knnz9rBtW_E) never saw me sent me any toys.
