When all the 20 ish people on public transport are overtly displaying that they are reading The Da Vinci Code to be with it. And you realise that you did the same thing in 1970 with _Portnoys Complaint_. ---

When you’re resigned to the fact that your feet are probably going to hurt first thing in the morning, until you’ve got them warmed up, now and for the rest of your life… When you think back to the year you turned 28, because you were geeky enough to realize that the day-of-week of your birthday that year was the day you were born… and you realize that the hawt 18-year-olds were born that year… When you remember the landlady’s toddler daughter from the place you were in lodgings “just a few years back” and figure that she’s getting on to her _mid_ twenties and already old enough to be uncool with the 18yo’s… When, on the other hand, the hawt 18-year-olds treat you with the respect due to someone their fathers’ age and more… Happy birthday to me ☹ ---
