If, on page two of the script, your character is supposed to cough for no particular reason - yet. If you are walking to your car and the camera is far, far away from that car, and you are told to turn, smile and wave to your loved one standing way, way far from the car next to the camera when you open that car door. When, for no particular reason, they show a little girl bouncing a ball on the sidewalk in front of her house and the ball goes into the street…and the mother/father is told to look out the window at that exact moment. You really know you’re in trouble when you bought that Malibu mansion the day after you signed a three-picture deal to star in that hit series, John Carter of Mars. ---
