Kids no longer get references to things that were pop culture icons for decades, like Gilligan’s island, I Dream of Jeannie, or the original Psycho. And they only know the bad rip-off reboots of the Brady Bunch, Beverly Hillbillies and Dark Shadows. Don’t get me started on that abomination of a Dark Shadows reboot, it sends me into a blind rage! ---

I got my 1095 B today, and the coverage for my health coverage stopped mid-year. I panicked until I realized the month after it stopped was the month my Medicare started. ---

The movie _Star Wars_ is older now than _The Wizard of Oz_ was when I was born. My father has been dead for almost 20 years. Granted, I was 31 when he died, which was sort of young to lose a parent, but it still makes me feel old that my father’s death can vote. ---

But I was thinking a similar thing about _Duck Soup_ and _Monty Python and the Holy Grail_. I first saw _Duck Soup_ in 1971, 38 years after its theatrical release. This May, it will be 42 years since I first saw MP&HG. ---
