Jack-In-The-Box’s Ultimate Cheeseburger. I remember sitting in a JitB once, wondering (and commenting) about the nasty smell in the restaurant. I finished my fries, unwrapped the burger, and discovered the smell’s source. Still ate it, though. Those things really hit the spot.

Raw honey smells like feet.

Tastes pretty good, though.

Kool-Aid used to make a flavor called “Kickin’ Kiwi Lime.” I swear, it smelled like dirty dishwater, but it tasted quite nice.

I agree.

I like to sip beef broth when I’m sick. Trouble is, when I heat it up, its smell reminds me of that of our boxes of serological medical waste after we take them out of the autoclave.

I never thought a thing existed that was offensive to so many senses at once…

Kidneys. I cooked lamb kidneys once, and they smelled like rank pee (not surprisingly). So I cut them up and gave them to the dogs, but the juicy pink cubes of meat looked so appetizing that I tasted one. Yummy! Like the best baby beef liver. They really stink, though.

This falls under the TMI side of things but I was introduced to a drink (in my youth) that snuck up on me and discovered that chili tastes the same in either direction.

To the question at hand. Redbull smells like mop water to me. Goes well with Jager though.

**Nic2004** , where on earth are you buying strawberries? Most supermarkets chill all the produce and you can’t smell a thing. At a farmers’ market though you can buy strawberries just with your nose: if they smell sweet, they’ll taste sweet. Same goes for peaches, pineapples and many other fruits; if they don’t smell good, don’t buy them. If they do smell good, buy lots.

I have the opposite of the OP problem with coffee: love the smell, can’t drink the stuff to save my life.

I believe **Rushgeekgirl** is talking about the packets of pre-mixed spices you can get at the grocery store. They have separate ones for tacos, meatloafs, stews and such.

Thousand Island dressing. It’s usually what I have on my salads but lordy! Heaven forbid I get a whiff of it before I take that first bite! Don’t know what to compare it to but yish! It’s disgusting!

It’s probably the mayonnaise (real or imitation) in it. That stuff grosses me out. Especially lumps of it in my sandwich or when it starts to turn translucent. But it’s a necessary evil. I like lots of foods with it in there but I hate seeing it or smelling it!

Ketchup is another one. It’s a must-have with fries and I don’t even mind the smell before or during the eating process but if there’s any on the plate _after_ the meal…well, it’s a good thing I have a strong stomach or my meal would have been wasted.

My former housemate microwaved Grape Nuts with milk and the smell drove me out of the room. It smelled like rotten feet. I couldn’t believe how rancid and hideous the smell was.

The same is true of limberger cheese. It smells like farts but tastes great, esp. with some nice stinky horseradish mustard. The key is to get it into your mouth before you can breathe too deeply.

They _are_ chilled in the supermarket…but warm to room temp. soon after coming home. And they are fresh with very few over-ripe ones in the basket. I have to keep them in the plastic grocery bag with the top tied closed until I wash and slice them. And they do taste good, even those that smell bad. Perhaps they don’t stink after they are washed. I generally do the washing just before the slicing so I can’t say for sure.

I have a witness. **Ms.Nic** comes in and says “What smells? You buy strawberries today?”

Velveeta Cheese

I work in a nursing home and we had a lady that was on a feeding tube and close to dying. Even our nurses and a doctor couldn’t keep this woman’s mouth clean, it was so nasty and it smelled like velveeta cheese and death. To this day i can’t cook cheese dip, but I can eat it after the rotel and meat is in it.
