It was just after Christmas 2012 - Tony was involved in a car crash while running code to a house fire because a moron didn’t know how to yield to an emergency vehicle. Given the state of the [car](http://wtoc.images.worldnow.com/images/20441546_BG1.jpg), I was pretty glad that Tony was in the hospital and not the morgue, and that the dog was virtually unscathed. ---

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the moron? Bad things, I hope. It’s a miracle Tony lived in that wreck. There was a police officer killed in an accident in My Fair City a few months ago and his car didn’t look nearly that bad. It was a [rather spectacular accident](http://mountainx.com/news/community-news/breaking_apd_car_goes_off_jeff_bowen_bridge/), though (scroll down to the third picture). Ever since that I’ve called that particular bridge the Death Bridge. It’s really too dangerous to exist. ---

The moron got a ticket for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. $1000 fine, 3 points on his license. The crash was bad enough that the dash cam video was irretrievable, so the guy was only charged with the obvious. (I did see that he got a DUI a couple of months later, though, which means that he lost his commercial drivers license! :eek:) ---

Until then, I’ll have to be happy with [grapefruit gummies](http://www.amazon.com/Haribo-White-Grapefruit-Gummi-1-5Lb/dp/B004B8DRMA/ref=sr_1_3?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1401669817&sr=1-3&keywords=grapefruit+gummies), which are also delicious and much cheaper. ---
