The Teabaggers may be nut cases, but that doesn’t stop quite a few folks in believing their propaganda. It’s quite plausible that enough folks believing their crap will cast enough votes to put one or more of the nut cases into office, too. ---

Robert Heinlein once remarked that getting shot ought to be considered an occupational hazard for tax collectors. In a similar spirit, I propose that lynch mobs should be considered an occupational hazard for politicians and public servants. Some armed rebellion now and then is good for the nation and good for the soul. ---

Heinlien was a hack. Unfit to sharpen Larry Niven’s pencils, or paint Ursula Le Guinn’s toenails. Phil Farmer could write better in a coma. Probably the only SF writer more wildly overestimated would be L. Ron Batshit. And I am not the least bit surprised that you quote him admiringly. ---

Maybe make it a pay per-view and help pay off the debt. How are Federal executions done these days, hanging? What’s nice though, is that we can waterboard the suspected treasoners to extract the names of the co-conspirators. If we do a good enough job of torture we can probably get them to name some innocent people we just don’t like as well: “Palin was part of this, right? Snorfle, snorfle, YES!! Just stop waterboarding me”! ---
