# You seldom get a set-up like this IRL

I _almost_ said this:

On a recent trip to Austria, we had taken a gondola ride up the side of a mountain. On the way back down, I spotted an animal lurking in the forest, and nearly burst into song: “Doe, a deer, a female deer!”

I told my husband later but he didn’t get it. :mad: I bet the other tourists would’ve.

This happened back in the 90s when feminine hygiene products were being marketed with “wings.”

A coworker had been a bit cranky that day and apologized to the group “because I’m on the rag right now.”

Trying to be witty, a male coworker started looking under her feet. “What rag, I don’t see anything, where is it?”

In a rare moment of timing I injected, “It’s got wings, it could be ANYWHERE!”
