On the way home from an outdoor performance of a fairly cool Beatles cover band in Fort Worth (actually in the redneck town of **White Settlement**. What a fucking name, let’s get the racism established before you even enter) I was sitting in the passenger side of my Dad’s car. We happened to pass a billboard for the local classic rock station.
On the billboard was the station logo. Next to this were the words “Highway To Hell- AC/DC” accompanied by _ **a picture of Timothy McVeigh surrounded by flames and with Satan standing next to him** _!!!
This is one of the sickest, most disturbing, most downright utterly fucked up things I have ever seen. How dare you display something so fucking horrible, you shit faced pricks! I hate your stupid fucking guts, you morbid assholes. Fuck you oh so much.

Who knows? Maybe this was _really_ poorly thought-out editorial on McVeigh?

What would you expect on a radio billboard in a town in Texas named “White Settlement”: “Mozart Concerti, every Tuesday Night on NPR”?
I’ve been to that area before, on the ass end of Fort Worth. I’m sure no black man I know would stop for gas in a Texas town called “White Settlement”, thats for sure.

Golly, folks, I’m completely against the death penalty, and I hate heavy metal to boot, but even I can appreciate the sick humor in it.
Now, if someone was somehow making light of McVeigh’s CRIME instead of his PUNISHMENT, then I think I’d be climbing aboard the bandwagon of outrage.
Gotta be able to laugh at most shit, ya know. Otherwise you’ll just end up depressed.

I would probably look at the billboard and wonder how big the bubble jet was that it was printed on.

I believe the town of White Settlement derives its name from the founder of the place, a Mr. White. The origin of the town’s name is similar to the origin of Brownsville—a town originaly founded by a Mr. Brown.
My guess is Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton would have jumped on it before now if it was as racist a place as you imply.

Look a little closer at the billboard — I saw a photo on the AP wire tonight — and you’ll notice that Beezlebub is holding a syringe to McVeigh’s shoulder, presumably with the substance used in the lethal injection.
Now, is that a comment on the death penalty? We were acting in Satan’s service by putting McVeigh to death?

I’m not sure I understand the outrage. If there is life after death, McVeigh is probably not having a very good time, if there isn’t, he’s ceased to exist except in ash form.
So are you upset because people are saying bad things about the dead? If so, why shouldn’t they? It’s more honest than the typical post-mortem search for something nice to say. “Well, he… um… always kept his hair nice and short.”
Or are you upset because it seems to take delight in someone’s death? If so, you have to admit vengence is nothing new. And although it might not be an emotion for those of higher self righteousness such as yourself; after Mcveigh killed over 100 men, women, and children, it should be fairly understandable.

Never thought I would say it, but I agree with Stoid 100 percent!
I am not ashamed to say that had I seen the billboard, I would have gotten a pretty good laugh from it. It is humor, sick humor, but still humor.
Wanna take bets on how fast the Timothy/rotting in hell jokes start popping up? You may want to cover your ears, otherwise you’re going to pop a blood vessel.
