I was thinking about giving everyone in the game their own private board where they could keep notes and such as the game was going on. Then I realized exactly how much work it would be to set that up and decided to ask you all if you wanted to use such a thing. So…if you would like to make use of such a system DON’T post to the thread about it, but please do PM me, and I will create a board for you. Scum this offer is good for you as well. If you want your own board where you can take notes and muse aloud to yourselves let me know. ---

No, it is not ok at Night…but it has been in past games…grumble so you get to be the only person who won’t get mod killed for the edit. NO ONE ELSE! Don’t edit. Please. I HATE mod killing people. “Team-building” activities I’ve actually endured: Paintball - This was actually fun. We were at an outdoor place, and we had it all to ourselves. The only drawback was that it was damn cold and my Manager got a lucky shot and tagged me in the neck once, leaving me a nice hickie. Dave and Busters - I can’t say that it wasn’t fun, but I’m pretty sure the only time we weren’t all off playing our own individual games was when we were getting drinks at the bar. Not exactly “team-building”. Bowling - The most recent and least fun, imho. Yes, we were on teams, but one of my overly-dramatic co-workers spent the whole time crying (in public) because our Manager (who was also there) had decided that morning to take away the one minion who had been assisting said co-worker. ---

By the way, there seems to be a mathematical error in the opening Night post. It was posted at 4:41 PM CST yesterday, which means Night ends at 4:41 PM CST tomorrow. He said the next Day would start at 11 AM PST(1PM CST), which would short our fledgling L.L.P. about four hours. We’re going to go ahead and set the official stop time as 4:41 PM CST(2:41 PST, YTMV). Nowadays, the correct method of advancement is incompetence: show that you’re dreadfully incapable to doing your job, and force TPTB to remove you further from productive work. ---

Terminations for cause are so rare in risk-averse big companies it’s not even funny. People slack all day and nothing happens. One guy would park in the parking spots reserved for pregnant mothers and then go home “sick” after an hour about four days a week. This went on for about four months. It seems there was a rule that if you had put in part of a day before going home sick it didn’t count as sick time and you could claim credit for a full day’s work. He was really gaming the system. To be fair he had a seriously fscked up life with lots of problems with his daughter and wife, but he was absolutely not carrying his weight or earning his pay. His supervisor(a friend of mine) worked on the paperwork to fire his butt for months, but if he had submitted it he wasn’t going to get another person to replace him. So the few hours of work a week this guy did put in, and he did good work when he did any at all, would fall on the rest of the team and no relief would come. Eventually the guy stopped coming to work and was auto-terminated as “job abandonment” and his position re-filled. True story. Enjoy, Steven ---
