Personally, I think the biggest smoking gun (aside from surveillance footage, of course) is that the pothead found the camera in a highly improbable place. No one throws away an expensive camera. ---

At least, I’ve never (anecdotally) observed this as a side effect of such intoxication. OTOH - showing up high to an event _inappropriately_ may be a sign that the guy’s an ass, and asses may, arguably, be more inclined to such stuff. ---

A spur of the moment grab rather than an Oceans Eleven heist plot if you will. I just love all the potheads getting all hot and bothered here. I like to drink but you sure as shit won’t see me saying statistically speaking that people that drink are NO different at all than people that don’t.
