Is it just me, or is that picture of Santa in the article pretty damn intimidating? Looks like he’s about to fire his Christmas Cannon at someone on the naughty list. ---

Yeah he does sorta look like he is directing artillery fire. I like the part where the police could argue for the existence of Santa. ---

I don’t think the gravamen of the matter is telling kids there is no Santa. Read the article carefully - it says “…The man is charged with _causing a disturbance by being drunk_ and _breach of probation_…” (emphasis mine). He was drunk and violated his probation. There’s nothing there that indicates that it would be illegal for a sober person not on probation to tell children that Santa does not exist. ---
