Reporting of such incidents would have some value if the journalist focused on why the child fell through the cracks with Child Protective Services- with some _real_ investigative journalism done to highlight a greater social failing. The horror stories could function to expand public awareness and drum up pressure to repair the system. Instead it’s just sensationalism, torture porn. It doesn’t take too many bad experiences with the worst of these kinds of articles before the wiser among us realize we’re not well served at all to bother clicking on the articles. But if the articles were done with journalistic _integrity_ . . . well, a guy can dream can’t he? ---
