On Weber Rd., just north of I-55, for most of the summer we had orange signs put out by thr county highway department adivising us of \*\*Road Construation \*\* ahead. ---

Not really a misspelling, but fun anyway. There is a gas station off of Interstate 5 up near where **Johnny LA** lives. It consists of two buildings, a main building and a storage building on the other side of the pumps. The owner had a huge mural painted on the side of the storage building. Really well done, the mural must be 60 feet long by 1 story high. It depicts an old time scene with a biplane and the **Texaco** star logo on the side, the plane is being fueled from drums with **Texaco** star logo on the side. There is an old time fuel truck with **Texaco** star logo on the side. An old Indy type race car again with **Texaco** star logo on the side. There is a gas station, on the roof is the **Texaco** star logo. The old style gas pumps also have **Texaco** star logo on the side, and on the globe on the top. Hell there are even oil cans stacked up in front of the station with **Texaco** star logo on the side. You guys know where this is going don’t you? It’s a Shell station :smack: ---

Not a misspelling per se because it’s spelled according to pronunciation, but for months there was a sign in the vegetable section of a Korean grocery store near us advertising “Remon Gress.” ---

There is a sign along I-255 near St. Louis that advertises ‘acerage’ for sale. What really makes this stand out is that on the other side of the sign, seen when traveling the other direction, is correctly spelled ‘acreage’. F and J ---

Not so much of a mis-spelling - at a local Boston Pizza they had this pre-made board saying “Boston Pizza \ is hiring:”, and a slot below to slide in the job type card. Sometimes they were hiring for two positions, so they placed the second card on top of the other, where it almost perfectly obscured the second line of the main ad board. Twice when I went there, in letters at least 8 inches high, the sign read Boston Pizza Cooks Dishwashers but they were always out. 😃 ---

I’ve got to get a picture of this one someday. In a local strip shopping center, there is a wall with signs for 2 businesses housed within. The top sign says Fuji Chiropractor, below that, Always Fresh. I’m guessing he doesn’t get a lot of repeat business from the ladies. 😃 ---

hilarious posts, I must admit. This kind of reminds me of something I was sent as to why some people don’t catch the misspellings at first glance: Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe As to whether or not that is a real study… I have no idea. However, I really had no problem reading that paragraph. ---

My reaction: “Is it made from real Angles?” I was heading to a friend’s house in Reseda. On the way there’s a chain flower shop (don’t remember which, Conroy’s maybe?) on Sherman. I remember when I saw the sign thinking, “I’ve GOT to get a picture of this for the Dope!” Unfortunately, this is exactly when I realized that my old digital had completely kicked the bucket. The sign said: CARNATION BOKAYS, $5. Then one from my JC. At the beginning of every semester, campus gets slathered with flyers selling used textbooks. Then I saw this gem, for a textbook used in a class in the Family Education program: CHILDREN, 6th Edition. Unraped. ---

I recently went to a restaurant that offered “spaghetti with meta sauce.” I’d like to know what the theoretical foundations of sauce would taste like, with or without the pasta. Maybe I should have ordered the spaghetti with meta sauce just to find out.
