Huh, after reading a few posts I could definitely say that if someone came up to me and said something _completely_ mundane that I’d done in a dream (or just slightly odd in the not real world… like the setting a computer on fire) I would probably laugh. If it were a coworker or good friend of mine. But anything more… and no. And anything from a superior or subordinate in work… I might be a little “uh… ok…” and walk away, just because I’d find it odd from someone that I have to take orders from or give them to (or be evaluated by or evaluated by me) who might be thinking about me and what I did in their head last night. Just that nobody, to my recollection, has told me anything mundane that I’d done in a dream because if it was it is just that, mundane and they forgot about it or it just hasn’t ever happened in someone’s dream. ---

How can you be so sure? They may just not have told you about it. But it could have been vivid and very dramatic. Someone may be dreaming about you tonight. ---

I once dreamt that my boss and I were at an office party and he did something (I forget what now) that embarrassed me so badly I cried in front of my coworkers. After that, in real life, I basically hid from him any time we had an office party, because even though I knew it had just been a dream and that he was never rude to me IRL, the dream had been so vivid and painful I could easily imagine it happening IRL. So…yeah. I knew it was totally irrational, and he probably thought I was a socially inept freak for acting so weird, but I couldn’t stop myself. I did tell him about the dream I had had involving him making me drink coffee disgustingly sweetened with cake batter. He just laughed, said it must symbolize all the unpleasant assignments he gave me, and we went about our business. No one was traumatized, as far as I know. (Fortunately, I didn’t have a sex dream about him until after I quit. Though I’m pretty sure I would have kept that to myself anyhow.) ---

All I know is I’d be happy if dream sequences never again appeared on sitcoms and never again appeared in dramas in ways meant to trick the viewer, because that shit’s old, baby. ---

My husband and I always tell each other about our bizarre dreams. We get a chuckle out of them. Years ago, my best friend recounted a (bad) dream she had: She and I were at our favorite nightclub with another friend when we all went outside to the parking lot. From nowhere a car drives up and rams my bf up against the building so that she is pinned in. So, I had to ask, “What were T and I doing while you were being squashed?” She said T was standing frozen like a deer in the headlights, and I was screaming my head off. Thirty years later, I still remember her telling me this dream. I interpret it now as my best friend’s two best friends are too clueless to call for help if you are severly injured. ---

Oh, I have another one that has stuck with me for decades. When I was seventeen or so I dreamed I was sitting on a couch(not in my home) with Frank Sinatra and we were watching _Starsky and Hutch_. We never exchanged glances(not even in the night). Now, when I had this dream S&H was a top ten show and I had a huge crush on Paul Michael Glaser. I also grew up listening to Sinatra’s music. My husband has known about this dream for years and teases me about it when we see PMG on commercials. ---

I read somewhere that in some Native American cultures if you dream about someone, you’re _supposed_ to tell them about it.
