I’m sorry, I have nothing to do all day with my disease, and I like to read these boards, I never thought social interaction with adults over the internet would not be permitted to children under the age of 13. I am not lying about being a college student, I go on and off to a community college, College of Marin. I don’t know why I started a topic, I have random mood changes. I’m sorry if I offended anyone in any way or broke some sort of rule, I will not post again. ---

17 turning 18 in a month and umm…_counts on her fingers, moves on to her toes_ 15 days…I think…Damn this is what I get for not taking a math class this year. I don’t know how I’m gonna make it in college next fall. DOH! ---

“So am I older, or am I older? You’ll have to speak up. I left my ear trumpet in the outhouse.” I think we’re pretty close to the same. We had an icebox, a big, wooden one. We heated the house with a coal-burning parlor stove that put a big blister on me before I learned to stay away from it. There were still lots of Model A Fords putting around and the fire truck in Manchester, GA was chain drive with solid tires. Hitler was becomming an international pain in the ass, but we wouldn’t be too concerned for a couple more years. I was one of the lucky (?) kids; I got polio at age 7 and came out of it with no paralysis. f ---

I just recently turned fifteen. I don’t post all that often but I read the boards every day. I’m addicted dammit. Awesome people here. Some of my favorite posters are other teens…mainly **Speaker** (Happy Birthday in advance because I’ll probably forget to mention it later), **saephiroth** , and **Living Dead Girl**. **Searching** told me a while ago that she’d come to Miami and help me kick someone’s ass which automatically made her cool in my book (Yes I remember comments like this, God knows why. Biology on the other hand, well who needs to remember that?). ---

Awww. Filthy, I think you’re older than I am, although I remember a fire truck with right-hand drive, wooden wheels, solid-rubber tires and chain drive. The thing is, I followed the smoke to see the fire, and there was this antique truck, pumping water. I couldn’t believe it, because this was in 1965! I thought I had fallen into a parallel universe. Glad you escaped polio. A few of my friends didn’t. ---

Sorry I mispelled your handle back there. Put it down to senility. I would have loved to have seen that old pumper at work! And as late as '65! Amazing! But I’ll bet it was a rough ride getting to the fire. You can still find a few of the old trucks and tractors at farm shows and fairs, all restored. luck, f ---

Birthdate: May 11, 1983 (that makes me 18 for those of you too young to know how to do the math and for those of you too old to remember) 😉 I was an emancipated minor from 16-18. I worked full time, went to college, paid rent to my mother(because, even emancipated minors can’t legally be bound by contracts such as leases, so no one with half a brain will rent to them), blahblahblah…silly grownup stuff. I happily divide my time between working as a legal secretary (If only I could have been doing this ages ago! However, I realize that most people don’t want their confidential legal information divulged to some kid.), partying like I shouldn’t, going to school _and_ the SDMBs. I feel like a little kid when I play with the boyfriend on muddy riverbanks and I felt like I hope 70 doesn’t at the end of 10 hour midnight shifts at Denny’s. ---
