YF! The good doctor was teaching at _my_ medical school in his first scene! BS is pretty good, though.
In the original _Frankenstein_ the good doctor is teaching in a lecture hall that looks _very_ much like one in Moore Hall, UCLA, but I was unable to confirm it. But Moore Hall had just come into being when the original movie was made. ---

All I know is, I love to sing “Battle Hymn of the Republic” when brushing my hair and that “Sweet Mystery of Life” song when having sex, so I’ll have to vote for YF. ---

I give the vote to **Young Frankenstein** , because it’s a better film, and because **Blazing Saddles** was frankly tedious at times when they stretched jokes out and beat 'em to death. Get to the point already! **YF** also had Inspector Kemp, who makes me laugh with gut-busting ferocity every time he appears. ---

I’m one for whoosh-type sight gags, and there were more of them in Blazing Saddles. The black sherriff disguised as a KKK wizard… brilliant! And not only are the bad guys taken in by a phony town with an absurd toll-booth in the middle of nowhere, they’ve been riding into the phony set of a town from _behind_ the set fer goshsakes! Absurd upon absurd. Loved it. ---
I knew there was a reason I liked you.
Aw man, where’s the Twitterpated smiley when you need it? [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/young-frankenstein-or-blazing-saddles/386460.md?page=3)
